That video hasn't helped the want 😂

What's the size of the tank on these anyway?

Also what are the main problem areas and what to look out for?

But yeah, it wouldn't be far off what a good one is worth. I have space in my Euromillions 5 car garage for one

This may be a different car, from what I know, the one a few months back was bought by a chap from Cork who still has it.

    Sorry Titan!

Tank is 50L I think. Normally you make it to about 220 miles out of a tank on a longer run and then you need to be finding a petrol station fairly quickly

As for what to watch out for, theyíre actually pretty robust and being end of the R53 line probably helps. Power steering pumps are known as weak but Iíve never had an issue, the clutch on mine was shot at 60k-odd miles when I bought it so a new one went in, along with a new rad that was leaking. I also fitted a set of JCW aux dials, mainly for the oil temp in case of overheating, but itís always been rock solid. The wheels discolour with any chips and are a mare to refurb, but luckily I got a good deal from BMW on a new set. Some say the supercharger is sealed for life and may need replacing/rebuilding after 100k miles, but I got it serviced with new oil as a preventative measure, and the oil kit for them can be picked up cheaply on eBay

Finally, while there were very few options available on these cars, actually I canít think of any, quite a few have had some of the JCW carbon parts added to them. Theyíre hideously expensive these days, I think due to demand in the US, but I managed to pick up a couple of bits for mine a while ago, including a carbon bonnet scoop and gearknob. Other than that Iím not sure Iíd modify a GP much, as to me it defeats the purpose a bit. Probably better to start it a standard R53 or JCW instead and work from there. For anyone who knows Bart from the BMW Driver days, his R53 is probably about as extreme as anyone has gone with an R53 here in Ireland (270hp, single mass flywheel, etc, etc.)
