I don't watch his channel as he is a headwrecker, but fairly crazy that Stradman has bought a Veyron. Ultimate rags to riches car youtuber story.

    Who is Stradman, another Shmee?

I'll give it a watch later on.

How exactly do these guys make so much money - merchandise / you tube revenue?

Not really, as he didn't have any money to begin with. When you're getting 1 million + views on videos you earn big money, somewhere around 6-7k dollars per million, depending on some factors. Pump out 3/4 videos a week(some do it every day) and you're making serious cash! That's before any merchandise or sponsorship stuff.

There is nothing there that would put be off it. It's a stunning looking car, and that sound! All these oddities is what makes classic cars so interesting and fun to drive. And 0-60 in under 8s in the early 1980s was quick!

Imagine the review of my Triumph GT6 today!

With the drivers seat belt on:
    - Can't reach the ignition key.
    - Can't reach the ashtray.

    - Steering wheel obscures the oil warning light.
    - The oil warning light is green, so your brain won't really pick it up as today we're wired that green lights are good!
    - the throw from 3rd to 4th is cranked about 4 degrees, so you have to learn this, otherwise you can't find 4th.

I could go on. But this is what makes this non-standardised era cars so great. You have to learn them, you have to think about everything.
We all stood around in a circle naked, thrusting our clinched fists in the air screaming "Jap Power!!"

Any car that merely takes you from A-B does not go far enough.
