'Building Up And Tearing England Down' - The pre-Brexit Scramble

Is it just me? Am I the only one frantically browsing for 1990s goodness (or whatever takes your fancy) prior to GB finally leaving the ESM and Customs Union on 1-1-2021.

    Assuming that actually happens.

Nope. Purchase of my next car was brought forward by 6/8 months to get it in before another tax gets levied against it on 1st Jan.

2nd hand market is going to be decidedly less appealing in 10 weeks.

I was, but it I had to give up, as there doesn't seem to be a soul alive with cash on hand interested in buying my current car.

Im good I stocked up with all my favourites over the past few years.

Its not a good development for car enthusiasts here but also not so good for people in the UK being cut off from this market which must have been a pretty big customer for their used cars and motorbikes.

Thought about it but decided not to get caught up in the panic frenzy stuff. Funds are better deployed elsewhere anyway preferably into a proper storage solution. I think when the dust settles in 6 - 12 months it will be a little more expensive but still worth the hassle for certain stuff.

I wonder if any imported classics will pop up on DD next year, when a few people unknowingly bring one back and get the shock extra costs when they try to register. I'm sure there'll be a few. Personally just not in the mood for buying in this current climate, but should have at least one to sell next year, so hoping for a nice extra value bump vs UK imports
