Trackdays.ie Track Day - Mondello Park 14 Aug

Many Backroaders attending the upcoming trackdays in Mondello. There is a Thursday and Friday session.

I'm booked into the Friday full day session with my Yellow Mégane R26.

I've just seen the new Covid restrictions impacting Kildare so wondering if the Trackdays maybe at risk as a result!

TBH, reading the guidelines on the regional lockdown which is in place for the next 2 weeks, I'd not expect the Trackday to go ahead!

    From their Facebook post -

⚠️ Mondello Park activities suspended for two weeks beginning Saturday August 8th

With new regional COVID-19 restrictions covering the counties Kildare, Laois and Offaly set to come into effect at midnight tonight, Friday August 7th, Mondello Park will be closed for activities for the following two weeks.

In order to comply with the new regulations, which state that residents in the effected counties should only undertake essential travel, that outdoor gatherings must be limited to a maximum of fifteen people and that people should only travel into the effected counties for essential reasons, all activities at the Kildare venue will be suspended for the required period.

Mondello Park will re-open once the restrictions are lifted and anyone with queries regarding events which have been effected by the restrictions should contact hello@mondellopark.ie or call 045-860200 during office hours.

Information on the re-opening of the venue will be released in due course.

But horse racing at the Curragh can go ahead - the horse racing industry in Ireland has to be the most powerful voice to get away with this carry on!
