I think the correct technical term is "Fried egg!"

    Congrats on the new car.
I love that colour, nice difference compared to the usual silver and black.

This fella might be of interest to you,he bought the cheapest 911 in the UK a few months ago and he's put up a few videos of his experiences since.

If the arse ever completely fell out of the Porsche market it would be hard to say no to a 996 GT3 or Turbo even.
Along with the basic Carrera they seem to be great cars.

    Happy motoring 😉

Congrats Flet! Early 996s are great cars - raw and very enjoyable but modern enough not to be a nuisance! They are pretty easy to DYI as well (bar engine I guess).

Thanks again for the kind words everyone, much appreciated.

Picked it up this morning and despite the forecast being for rain all day I thought I’d get a few hours in behind the wheel so I spooled down an unexpected 160 miles. Route was M6 - M17 - Tuam - Belclare - Headford - Cross - Cong - Corrnamona - Maum (with an obligatory toasted sandwich stop in Keane’s) - Leenane - Inagh Valley - home. Initial impressions are great, a very versatile and non-threatening car with an incredible range and depth of ability.
