    UK Car Inspection experience?

    Hi all,
Thinking about making a UK purchase and considering getting the car inspected in advance, anyone got experience or recommendations?
How good is the regular AA/RAC type inspection?
Are there other companies to consider?
Can they be trusted with "nice" cars?

I would still be viewing the car myself and making final decision, but hoping to weed out anything obvious that seller isn't revealing or might be a showstopper.

    Any thoughts?

I got my dad to look at a car for me once.

When I collected it it had a blown turbo.

    I didn’t ask him again....

I've used the RAC twice. Very thorough, no complaints. They have different levels of inspections. As I bought a higher value car it was £435 in total. I would definitely use them again.

I tend to stick with specialist garages for the higher value or more niche car! I've used the likes of Litchfield, Super 7 Autos, Munich Legends, etc. in the past and find them great.

    Bumping this for anymore experience?

A car has caught my eye, relatively low value but it's an 11 year old car so I'd rather spend the money on an inspection and agree a sale based on that than travel and walk away.

Anyone got an RAC membership to save a few quid too?

The advanced inspection starts at 239 stg and it includes a verbal summary which I think makes a big difference.
