As above got a voucher ages ago for this and finally got around to booking in for tomorrow. Anyone done it and what can i expect ?

Done it and loved it. A gang of us went and had a great time. The deal we had was to drive the MK2 Escorts. Tuition was good (in my very novice opinion) and really the choice was to try and put in good lap time or to try and drive sideways as much as possible. Most of us opted for sideways the first lap, helped by very wet conditions. Then of course the competitiveness set in to chase a good lap time. One thing to note, the three Escorts out on track that day drove very differently. One was very tail happy, one more neutral and one surprisingly planted apparently. (Did not drive that one.) It is quite expensive... I calculated how much it cost per lap, then per minute. Good fun though!

Great bit of craic, I did back when there was a gravel track and in the wet, had three goes in the MarkII's and one go in the scooby, the mkII's were epic fun and the scooby was epic in its own right, but can't help think that the owner turned down the boost on us, based on the way it was "warmed up" with him behind the wheel and then us. It sounded different, but maybe it was the conditions that he felt the need to do it or maybe we just had too much fun in the mk2's??

I helped out at this Subaru event:



and while I was there got to drive the Escort and Impreza. Beat all the Dub GAA player's time in the Escort, and loved every minute of it. Very communicative car and easy to control when going sideways (I'm a total novice at that). They encourage you to go flat out, but the course is very small so you're kept busy with the steering and brakes. The Impreza was quicker, but no where near as much fun - electric nannies must have been left on, as it would only go flat out when you had full traction.

The lads that run the venue are well organised and good craic. They have lots of interesting machinery on-site and are happy to give you a tour.
Overall, try get as much time in the Escorts as possible

Unfortunately its the supercar and drift experience i got so i dont think the escorts are included in that ...ariel nomad , porsche 911 , toyota gt86, 350z etc The course does look tight and twisty from the pics iv seen . Really looking forward to it havent driven a fast rwd car in ages .

Did it years ago with one of the Deery brothers (of karting fame) as my instructor. Enjoyed myself but I have to say the Mark 11s felt "turned down" quite a bit as I couldn't get the tail out at all! They had a Beemer there at the time which was (a bit) more fun. Once was enough.

The lads are very flexible up there, and you can buy laps in anything as well .

I did it a couple of years back. Great fun, we had laps in the coopers, the Scoobies, the mk2’s and the E30’s all massive fun but my pick of the bunch was the mk2. It was a wet day and that was best suited to to track the e30 was erm, lively on the back end and the scoobies were just lag boost lag boost as I don’t know how to drive them haha! The coopers were quick but not as rewarding as the older kit.

A word of warning though, when we were there there were a couple of lads doing the drift thing and it was just too slippery in the wet which seemed to spoil their day a bit I think, so maybe aim for a dryish day if possible.

Also see if you can get a neb in the big garage, they had a couple of lovely 6r4s when we were there.

One of those 6R4s was sold a couple of years ago and restored. It's still in Ireland though.

They were some cars, I think the majority are tucked away now sadly.
