Thread: BIK on commercial vehicles

  1. #11
I dont know the exact ins and outs of this and came to the conclusion 15 years ago that company vehicles and BIK was too much hassle and extra paperwork to boder with , I do have vans but they are work only anyway

I own my own crew cab Range Rover which i use for work all the time so i just pay for all the maintaince , testing , tyres , fuel etc from the company , I cant say if its right or wrong but thats what i have been doing for years

Definitely do get clear advice from the accountant on whether company vehicle or private vehicle and claiming expenses is the best choice for your particular circumstances. If they're in any way vague on it, time to find a new accountant

Just be careful on claiming the mileage, your not supposed to claim for the first Journey of the day. That's where a lot
    of Contractors got caught.
