Just to update this put the car up for €1100 and the first viewer fell in love with it and paid €950 for it so goes to show a good well minded car is still worth a premium over a higher mileage rougher example.

In good nick it's a safe purchase for anyone, not surprised it sold close to asking. In relation to mileage I'd even say a well-cared-for high miler is still a safer prospect than a tatty low-miler in my book. You can tell an awful lot from condition regardless of miles.
