Thread: Motor Insurance Gone To Hell... 2017-2019

It's crazy that insurance companies have to be made to give the cost of last years premium to people in their renewal.

It's not exactly hard for them to do this very simple thing but still they must be made do it.

Its alright lads, Operation Coatee will get them , must be the 5 cases logged by the whole industry last year lol

Annual insurance check in for me. Cayman S, I’m 42 - €487 fully comp. Down by €100 or so I think.

    42 years old, 5+ No Claims, 9+ licence - 01 Saab 95 = €540 renewal

Had to cancel due to lack of funds. Wife offers to pay cos it's all so much hassle.

Same details, same company, two weeks later = €970

Letter sent asking for explanation. Probably pointless, but between dealing with them and the Revenue at the moment, I've become a letter writing person.

Nope, standard fully comp policy. I have an annual tax saver ticket as well which gives a discount, not sure what % though.

    That's mental. I'm paying €820ish on a 02 9-5 and I'm 25 with 4 years NCB and 3 years licence.

That's with Liberty and it's TPFT.

I'm paying 810 fully comp for myself and wife on 07 Saab 9-3 1.9 tid 150. That's with Liberty. 540 was an amazing price. Who is that with?

    123.ie and it’s TPFT

I’ve been with them for maybe 8 years now.

Just to close this off. 123.ie rang me. Explained that basically, insurance premiums change per day, up or down. Once my policy was cancelled, that was it, no other way around it but new customer. In my eyes, the disparity wasn't explained, but I have only so much energy. New quote given, with wife on the policy this time. Down €200 from original quote, still up €200. Overall better than any of the other quotes I got. End of story.
