  • That's very nice, I can see plenty of Ukrainians everywhere lately, I hope that they feel good here in Ireland.

Another good news: Slovak government just decided to send all 13 MIG-29s to Ukraine.
Any car that merely takes you from A-B does not go far enough.

    • The drone attack has been geolocated, apparently...

      • And in typical Russian fashion Russian pilot will receive a special award for this.

Its nice, but less than 10 are airworthy.
Indeed, it appears that the entire fleet was mothballed last year, which makes people wonder why they could not have been delivered sooner.
Reply: Slovakia gets millions in military aid to by new jets.

          • The Slovak order for F16s was to be delivered to the Slovak Air Force this year (2023). They were ordered years ago.
The MiG 29's were to remain in service until this year, but events in UA saw that change.
There was an airshow in Sept of last year at Malacky Air Base, Kuchyňa, where the 29's did aerial exercises and demonstrations. I spent the day closeby at the house of some friends.
The SK air force, military, and some politicians all confirmed at the show the planes were to go to UA hence being removed from service early. They've been sitting around ever since of course. But who knows what machinations take place behind the scenes or what's transpired in the last 6 months...

              • Its not just the usual subjects being thought to very young children in Crimean schools,
how to assemble and disassemble a rifle, tactical training and how to survive a chemical attack
are high up on the curriculum.

                    • Cheers Hooch but tis them doing me the solid, been advertising locally for months without a solid bite , then within a couple of weeks, I'm approaching 6 hired.

This latest bit of detail is half depressing, half inspirational, one of my new Housekeepers Ina had her own Dental practice back in Ukraine....replicated all over Europe no doubt, but a right punch in the face full of perspective, which is always welcome.

                            • There has been a few reports that ammunition factories in China have been ramping up
production of ammunition and shells and then routing these to Russia in Ukraine by
                              sending the supplies through Iran.

So it appears that China is still not getting directly involved, which of course is very hard to
believe after the big extravagant displays and love in between Xi and Putin over the last few days.

And of course that utterly useless and completely one sided piece of propaganda of a so called peace plan
that they released, doesn't even mention the words invasion or war.
