  • Lads, remember that revenge is a dish best served cold.
There will no doubt be a retribution, but nothing that is apparent today.

NATO(USA) and Russia are used to taunting an provoking each other.
It is to NATO/USA advantage to show off Russia as the (moronic) random bully, and NATO as the restrained party.

We just never hear back about the revenge, because we have free press and they don't.

I would like to remind you to the time in Syria when the wagners kept taunting the Americans and taking potshots at them and shooting at their allies.
The americans simply laid down a trap, let the wagners get themselves in a twist when americans "fled" some positions across a river, where they put the wagners into a wonderful crossfire and chopped them up with airstrikes and artillery.

    • The best punishment is to provide more Himars, Patriot, intelligence, tanks, training, drones, ... right?

        • I just read a hard hitting article from a journalist who managed to get to Bakhmut and into the actual fighting and first aid facilities and what not. The area is totally off limits for journalists. He’s maybe the only one who has covered it (together with a photographer).

I will take a little break from this because that was just so awful. I can understand why nobody wants that covered. Verdun meets Stalingrad pretty much. I was considering pasting in a part of it but it’s so bad that I won’t.

          • Your post is so true, they make it look like they are not loosing 1000s of young men and the dead ones might be lucky.
It strikes me when you look on YouTube etc you rarely see the horribly disfigured soldiers, burn wards, multiple amputees, PTSD etc. it’s all Slavsa Ukraini.
I did see one Chanel that mentioned a soldier in bed in ward (blurred) with no legs or arms left amongst other things.

Such a waste of young people.

I read somewhere that after WW2 all the disfigured Russia soldiers were mainly locked away in institutions may or may not be true

You should paste it. I seen the videos of some of the mass graves with women with bound hands etc. Or the tortured Ukrainians by means of gas blow torches. And I do wish that I hadn't seen them. But at the same time, I think that more people should see them and read the finite details. "Out of sight, out of mind" is how the Nazis got away with it for so long.

The cruellest thing is that all of the Rusky POWs that were liberated from German Concentration Camps, through pure horror of war, and then trying to survive Nazi camps....... were "lberated" and then all sent to Gulags. "Real Russian would never be captured, and also there was a risk that they were infected with Western ideals."
Also, those Polish/Czech/etc. heros that fought with the RAF/ Army/ Navy (Western forces)... when they were deported back to their now Rusky occupied countries............ straight to prison. Imagine fighting to free your country from Nazis, only to find it then captured by Russians, and imprisonment for your troubles. You could go on and on about the weird fuked up actions and psychology of the Rusky government. And it hasn't changed.

"Slavsa Ukraini" is one sided for a reason - Morale. They are fighting for their lives and their homes. The last thing that they need is seeing the thing that they all know is happening shoved in their face. They need hope and courage.

                • I have seen a lot of stuff I never thought I would. Like half a head blown off and mutilations with grenades and all the dead bodies of men, women and children with wrists tied and clothes ripped off and soldiers with burns and limbs missing. I don't seek it but it comes up where I am looking for information. I fully understand anyone who wants to avoid it - I actually had a row with my wife because she just doesn't want to know because she doesn't think it helps that she knows anything about it. And maybe I will get to the stage where I need a break from it too.

I would like to buy a Backroads APC though.

                  • I will do the intro to the article. It doesn't get any better from there.

                    - Does God exist?

It is a dying young Ukrainian soldier with the code name "The Fox" who asks the question.

                    - Of course God exists, but be quiet, save your strength, replies Ruslan, one of the doctors.

Half of the soldier's left side up to the waist is largely blown away. Cartilage, bone pipes, tissues and meat slimes remain. The blood covering the ground around the bed is almost black. At the other beds, the doctors are trying to save the lives of four other equally wounded soldiers. Apart from grunts and occasional roars of pain, or of terror and anguish, it is surprisingly quiet at the small mobile hospital - a so-called stabilization point - of which there are plenty at the outermost front around Bakhmut, where the Russians have pushed forward and a violent battle is taking place over every metre of ground.

                    - Will I survive? stutters the young soldier in a voice so thin it's barely audible.
                    - Yes, but you must be quiet.

The look on the doctors' faces says it all.

The minutes pass. The doctors' hands move faster. The generator hums. Two of the soldiers are declared dead. The artillery fire beats incessantly. Like a single rolling thunder, the explosions echo across the earth in varying strengths.

                    - I don't want to disappear... God... God...

The young soldier's chest heaves up and down. He vomits; a light gray sorrel spreads over the chest. The young nurse wipes the soldier's mouth. The soldier gasps. His green-brown eyes widened. Five minutes later he is pronounced dead.

                    - I have to have a cigarette now, preferably two, says one of the doctors and throws the mask and the bloody apron into a metre-high black plastic barrel and goes out.

After two cigarettes, in the cold night with frozen stars in an icy sky, the doctor nods in the direction of Bakhmut where scattered flames stretch like long tongues into the sky, and says:

                    - If God exists, he died down there.

There are plenty of ways to do this.
I contributed to this future medevac:

And also you can join here:

This guy regularly buys 4x4s and drives them (himself) to Bakhmut:
                      https://twitter.com/Exen

I have been trying to find any surplus APCs (of which there used to be plenty in Eastern Europe!) but for obvious reasons, they are now hard to come by.

For general donations, there is also this:

I think an ambulance would be most palatable to the whole forum.

That is very hard to read, nearly impossible to comprehend and what it is like to have to live and work
in scenarios like that, hour after hour, day after day.

You just have to ask and question how a species that is supposedly the smartest and most intelligent
can do anything like that, lead by and at the behest of a complete lunatic and madman.
Though admittedly you would hope only a relatively small number of people are capable of such brutality and savagery.

The Soviets did not classify Polish military personnel as prisoners of war, but as rebels against the new Soviet government. My grandfather spend 10 years in prison for that. Many Polish families had someone with similar story or worse. "Russofobia" in Poland is strong but they are not doing themselves any favours..

                              • Just to add a little levity and upside, we hired a few Ukrainians this week.
I said to my new trainee Alex who is 42 and an Economist to start handy - just come in at 8.30.
Rock up this morning to discover he's been outside since shortly after 7
So willing to work, so conscientious, fresh haircut and tidy treads. His wife starts tomorrow and hoping to lassoo his Daughter who is the only one with passable English next week when she finishes her exams.
