Predictable Russia has sent a load of missisles and drones across. Kyiv reports most shot down. Has there been a big let up recently in big waves of drones and missisles? They must be starting to not run low, but get to a point where they dont want to waste stocks just in case.
The amount of commenters in the likes of the Journal, Daily Mail etc banging out the retorhic of "Nato are escalating", "who said it was a 3 day war", "We shouldnt be involved" etc is quite astonishing. I'm assuming lots of bots and new accounts, but on the Journal there seemed to be plenty of accounts that were started multiple years ago. Are these just simpleton cranks? Are people in general really believing this crap? Or is it a disproportionate amount of village idiots use the comments section?

You could imagine they would setup accounts in advance and leave them just in case.
It used to be a tactic of the Russians to create accounts on (western) news websites, plaster them with pro-Russian comments, and then report back on those very comments as in smaller (fake) media as "see how people of the west agree with Russia, contrary to their politicians... etc.""This is a non-contact sport but then so is ice hockey" - Roberto Giordanelli on Irish FIAT Punto racing but applies to all Irish racing..

But it's amazing how many people swallow this sh1te. A friend of mine is also, "NATO are expanding their war!"
What exactly do you mean "their" war?? Really, exlain your logic of who exactly invaded, raped, murdered, fill mass graves, laid waste to a free country?
It's like those twats protesting "for peace" outside the US embassy....... Eh lads, I think that you are outside the wrong emassy! Muppets.Last edited by markcro; 26-01-2023, 02:49 PM.We all stood around in a circle naked, thrusting our clinched fists in the air screaming "Jap Power!!"

That tank mechanic meme......
What's the odds when this is all over the Ukrainians start contracting for NATO countries.
A Couple of Ukrainian mechanics will be able to maintain a whole army worth of kit they'll have learned so much in this.

I guess its hard to know if this is true or not but something like this is to be expected.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...of-accused-spy
Ukraine has arrested a high ranking security agent for passing on intel to the Russians.
Even in peace time things like this go on all the time I'd imagine, never mind in the middle of this war.

I'm sure that they have spies, informant and plants all over the West too. Iwonder if there is any new info on the German cyber security minister(or whatever his title was) that was fired a few months back for having ties with the Ruskies? We all stood around in a circle naked, thrusting our clinched fists in the air screaming "Jap Power!!"

Theres also reports coming out that after handing over about $350 million to Iran to get their drones,Russia is about to set up a factory within Russia to start producing them for their expected spring assault.
Not sure how the sanctions will affect the Russian version, maybe they'll stuck a carrier pigeon in it.
At least then it would have a much better sense of direction compared to their very wayward attempts so far.

If I were Russia, I would hammer the rail network and the entry points into Ukraine. The tanks will need to be shipped with rail. I’d imagine it must be a major logistical problem for Ukraine to do this safely. I’m sure they have very well protected locations where they are building up these forces. I’m sure that’s where the Patriot missiles are based. Nato has various logistics depots near the border that also have a Patriot shield.

Putin has now said Russia is at war with NATO because of the tank deliveries, what that will actually mean who knows.
WRT to the rail network, I believe it is near impossible to cause lasting damage to it that cant be repaired ina fairly short time frame. There was a twitter feed posted on here some time ago as to why

Yep for sure, Ukraine is doing a very good job keeping the rail network going. Which means they can keep on keeping on. But I'm sure a decent quantity of tanks sitting on rail carriages can be hit. They might well have anti-aircraft systems on the most important trains too.
