Covid-19 Pandemic - Alright everyone, back to The Pile

At this rate this thing is going to go on forever - quite depressing news. I am the eternal optimist and on the first covid thread on here I correctly predicted a quick vaccine would be produced given what was at stake when the general opinion was that a vaccine would take 5 - 10 years to become available.

Now though my optimism is becoming a little weaker. I assumed this virus could just as easily mutate to a less problematic variant but the opposite has been the case. I am sure a modified vaccine will become available for this one too but thanks to the unvaccinated this virus will continue to be given the opportunity to produce new variants until at some point there will be no vaccine to combat it. Then we are really goosed.

With the coughs some of the kids in school here have I don't know if I'm a teacher or a coal miner.

No real point in asking the question but - would you book anything for Easter in the current environment and this South African craic on the horizon?

Well I have really had enough now and I'm fairly sure that I'm not going for a booster every 6 months.
In fact I'm not going for any more covid Jabs regardless.

I am getting a bit annoyed with the whole thing too. Maybe for different reasons. Not pointing the finger at any one individual, the constant complaining that it is a joke, sticking it to Tony, the govt, whoever, is just annoying. It's a Pandemic, we have never had to deal with it in living memory, no-one knows exactly what is next. Bit of objective thinking please.

Yeah thats the thing.
Yes its annoying to wear a mask, yes the gov. (of whichever nation) is doing the "wrong" thing, yes this that, just flipping man up and take it.
Its no use sitting and crying, going on protests etc etc. it's not going to go away because we want it to.
