If you do a switch with the current insurer before renewal, will they renew the policy without hassle?

My current insurer wont insure JDM, lol. It is alright I will go with my first option thanks.

Sorry I was not clear, that is the new insurer asking and since my new car is a JDM import this was the only company that I found to insure it. I might just sell my old car to my brother and buy it back when classic insurence kicks in, It is a legal solution at least.

What the hell is up with insurence companies, my renewal is coming up and I am putting my main car off the road so want to start a new policey carrying my NCB to the new car as that is my new main, But the insurer wants me to send them a letter stating that I dont own or am in possession of my old car before they will send me a disc. This is so dumb as so what if I have the old car and am not using it, I want to keep it and put it on classic insurence next year.
