    • JB- what were those hidden brackets you used , handy to install , get?
will they work on thicker shelves and a stud wall?

      • Had 2 weeks between closing for the winter and hip job. :D:D:D:D loads to be done but at least managed a days ripping to gather some slabs to dry for next years projects.
it’s now become obvious I need a 3rd shed and possibly a kiln down the line!

        • Had these 4 shelve type things set aside for some wax on wax off goodness to get me thru the boredom.

Popped , 240 grit, cleaned down and drying before a small bit of polish on the epoxy fills and 2 coats of Rubio Monocoat cos they’re going into bathrooms .

            detail pics here http://www.backroads.ie/forum/car-re...555#post994555

Home made from a length of this stuff https://www.diy.ie/departments/alumi.../254193_BQ.prd

secured into plaster slabs with these guys https://www.screwfix.ie/p/fischer-se...100-pack/47347

Normally those fixings arent particularly strong, they're only ok for resisting pull out, but in this scenario they can't pull out, the load is completely vertical on them because the shelf prevents any outward movement as it's wedged into the alcove

All fairly cheap and cheerful, but a bit of work in converting the aluminium into brackets. it's easy to cut and drill but because it's so soft you have a lot of rough edges to clean up.

Because you can't see under the desk and because I wanted it to be a bit stronger the desk is just sitting on some aluminium angle

                • I've never seen a jack you could turn the 4 finger holder upside down on, that's clever.

Yes, it’s very handy in that sense, it also accepts the round rubber pad from a trolly jack and also the extendable jacking beam.

Lots of new bearings , a modern VFD to give me 3phase in my single phase shed new wiring and control system with a spindle speed tachometer and speed control , still needs some machining work on the apron to take up some wear ..... But all in all in amazingly good nick considering its age . Made by Pont a Mousson who make a lot of manholes you see everywhere, It does weigh close on two tonnes though which caused some transport issues .
Pont a mousson made the gearbox for the Facel Vega.
