Chasing a sensible amount of camber... Turns out I'd been supplied with wrong bottom ball joints! Aaargh.

Not a lot going on in the shed at the moment for me, but a bit happening outside it.
Replaced the fence panels between the shed and the lawn. making a cap on top of cheapo fence panels makes them look an awful lot better than they actually are.

Was around catching up with my painter today at lunch & he's got yet another 911SC Targa in for work they all seem to popping out of the woodwork now as prices are crazy... this one had some really bad repairs to a hit it had in the rear end a few years back, needs a respray & still was close to a $100k car when the guy bought it last month... blows my mind

He also had a brand new Mini Moke in... it's a bare chassis that had never been built it seems

After starting two smallish rust repair sections on the 944 last February when it failed NCT, I only just got back to finishing it this week as I am on holidays. 🙄
Front of floor on drivers side. New panels shaped up and trimmed to fit.
Tacked in

Welds sanded back - looks almost factory, (The bottom of this piece still to be cut to shape in this picture. The faint black sharpie outline shows a tab that is present (it sticks down lower that the sill bottom, where a mount for the front wings screws to.)

The inside parts of the corner.
The larger floor part needed some tricky enough shaping to match the existing floor fairly seamlessly.4

I think one of the problems with this area on 944's is that garages and NCT etc. think that shaped section on the floor here is a jacking point - but it's not. Lifting the car here tends to stress things and crack underseal + metal etc. + obviously the age of these cars also is a factor (mine is 1983). Although they are galvanized from new so nowhere near as bad as some stuff from the same era.
Next steps seal it up, paint, adjust the left front wheel bearing as it failed for some play also and also have to replace the tight hand steering arm from rack to track rod end. Then get an NCT re-test. Might see some road before the summer weather ends.
