    That's sickening to watch.

What's the story with the chopping board?

Some say its trying to pick up the signal of the keys inside the house.

Much like when you try to boost the signal of the wifi

You can see the slingshot to smash the window and its possible to code a key in 10-15 secs.

Crazy alright but would prefare this then coming into the house looking for the keys

That is just bonkers. To steal my car all they need is a screwdriver and now they using chopping boards and slingshots, what's next ? A pair of underwear and a fishing rod ?
Any car that merely takes you from A-B does not go far enough.

He is using an RF jammer in that video to prevent the owner using their key, they connect a key programmer to the ODBII port and reprogram a new key; under fair trade law in the EU , manufacturers cannot encrypt access , they must allow non-franchise garages access to service the car

how BMW designed a system like that is beyond belief
looking back now, I think that maybe, every now and again, I should have braked a little earlier

i assume you are talking about access to the diagnostic system only? non-franchise workshops cannot program or cut keys
Well, as far as MB is concerned

thats not true really, but all these theives have cracked versions of bmw/ mercedes / audi software and just code keys that way. like a 5 grand snap on computer wont code that key for you but a 10 year old laptop and free software off the net can!

Quite true but no so much for MB, keys have to be authorized by the factory directly on line by authorized personel. If some how a new key is coded to the ignition the drive authorisation system still won't allow communication with the ism, ECU, transmission oil pump or steering lock. MB keys generate a new code every time the car is started from a possible 2000000 combinations

Quick search on buying a device to program a key, keys are around 70 dollar mark

What aren't new cars fitted with alarms from the factory? Imobilisers are good but they don't stop them butchering the car to get it started.
We all stood around in a circle naked, thrusting our clinched fists in the air screaming "Jap Power!!"

That is nuts. It can be that easy to steal a top spec car, with supposedly top security system.

                              Mental.
