WEll, at least there will be ACTUAL F1 news on the various F1 sites.
I am expecting that all the parts we will see will be different on the launch cars and the first test cars (and again on the first race) but at least there will be something to follow again.

When is testing kicking off? One week only this year? Be interesting to see some idea of pecking order for the year.

First weekend in March I'm fairly sure with the first race 2 weeks later

A big day for Ford. While it is a bit tiring to listen to all the talk about sustainability, F1 is a showcase for eFuel and no harm in having big marketing spend behind that.

Seems Redbull, Horner in particular weren’t too happy with Honda and their in/out/in moves so to upstage them they announce this on the day they have Honda back on the cars officially. Meanwhile Honda has committed to the 2026 season but who will they power??

Had Dieter Mataschizsz lived on, the Redbull Honda partnership would’ve remained strong.

I see Williams Honda back on the grid, Caddy Honda too??

I suspect Dietrich Mateschitz’s health was a factor in the Porsche breakup. You don’t get deep into discussions with Porsche to then just abruptly pull out. I would speculate that Mateschitz was behind the linkup and when his health failed then the likes of Horner saw his chance to wrestle back control.

Ford seems to be more about branding than a fully fledged engine manufacturer but let’s see. It’s often the way anyhow.

Na, Porsche wanted a full buy in and control of the team, that was the deciding factor. Horner thought they‘d perform a Braun and pick up all of Hondas’ IP for nothing with them pulling out, but then the public backlash made Honda rethink and it became a silly merry go round that it now is. Hence Horner is happy to flaunt the new partnership in front of a car branded with Honda. Redbull committed to getting their PU off the ground and there’s no recouping that investment unless as you say, you have someone else happy to pay to be a brand name on the PU.
