I'm started to get tempted by this Alfa 159 TBi. Having had a quick look on Autotrader.co.uk I don't think a similar car would cost the same in the UK excl. duty, VRT, NoX as the ad claims however.
I think around the €8k mark it would be a good buy. Gorgeous car.

That's the same car that's been for sale for ages, it was up on collecting cars recently and didn't hit the reserve, got a bit more than £15k.

It sold for a bit more than £18k previously.

Its a UK car so liable for VAT and Duty too and the recently quote of €38k tor VRT means bringing it in here is a non runner.

With the UK economy struggling, it could be tempting to pick up some yellow reg stuff like this and give it a VRT/duty holiday for a while. An old school BMW M5 would be awesome (assuming it works).

With retro road going RS 964s being quite in vogue we thought we might let you into a little secret. We have just bagged one of the best if not the best available in the country.
A very well known Porsche club members car that has been transformed with a no expense spared restoration over the past 8 years making it the perfect fast road/track weapon.
Combined with a lightweight spec body including the removal of the sunroof, AC, rear wiper and rear screen & standard interior. Recaro Pole Positions have been fitted along with a half Aluminium cage, alcantara roof lining, nappa leather retrim with red stitching and A RS lightened rear screen… That’s the attention to detail that makes this car special.
Mechanically, it’s everything a 964 should have been. A race spec engine has been built by CTR Developments in the UK using Mahle 3.8 barrels and pistons, 997 gt3 oil pump, Schreck race cams with lightened & strengthened internals. A hand built exhaust with equal length headers by Hayward & Scott has also been fitted. To increase reliability and performance a MoTec ecu, larger injectors and ancillary works have been fitted to keep performance to a breathtaking 320bhp. A 993 6speed gearbox has been fitted with a Quafe LSD, and Golden Rod quick shift including a single mass flywheel with RS clutch.
Along with engine works a fully adjustable suspension set up has been fitted and tuned by Centre Gravity in the uk. Bilstein PSS10’s, Rennline monoballs with adjustable RS adjustable anti roll bars.
Genuine Cup wheels have been fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres along with
993 brakes, Padgid Blue pads, braided lines to help you reign it all in while you enter that apex ever so slightly hard
Very seldom I get excited about a Modified 911 but the quality and level of work that has gone into this car makes it every bit as good if not better than a genuine 964 RS at a fraction of the price and build cost. A genuine opportunity to own something very special that will literally make you get up at 5:00am for that morning blast.

I'd love to know when that work was done, bit weird if it was all done recently, and then flogged straight after? Seems like a dream car anyway, i'd say 80k at the very least. There was a nice red 964 up for 55k a few months ago, but who knows, could easily be 90 or more!
