I took a deposit for it on Sunday but then the buyer couldn't get classic insurance so pulled out. Couple more viewers lined up for the week ahead and plenty of chancy 26/27/28k offers so I would say there must be plenty "stupid" enough to pay it.

It is. Crazy money but welcome to 2021, nut & bolt restored cars are even more expensive again.

        • Imagine not being able to get Classic Insurance, yet able to raise 30k for a TC. Trying to decipher than scenario right now.....

          • Great looking car Glenn.

I would have thought getting classic car insurance would be pretty easy but possible not.

Something like that will always get plenty of interest anyway.

It's actually hard to insure a Jap AE86 under 30, and this particular chap was only 18

Yeah that might be a sticky point alright.
Fair play to them having that sort of money for a car at 18.

That must be fairly disappointing for the lad, but I'm always surprised when people don't get insurance quotes before spending money (or even time) on a car.

There's a young fella on TikTok who has a nice Chaser that he can't get insured on, he's no more than 20 but he's holding onto the car until such a time as someone will insure him on the thing.
