Spoiler-less original Irish Mk1 TT with new NCT for €2950.

You can be lucky owner #14
Weren't the spoilers to be fitted as part of a recall?

Surprised how stock it looks at owner 13. Swapped back and forth for tax avoidance maybe?

Yeah, the spoilers were fitted in a safety call around 2000 IIRC.

I doubt tax avoidance is the main reason for the number of owners of it tbh. If you look at any Mk1 TT on Donedeal, the vast majority of them have a higher than average number of owners. I think it’s just because people buy them as a fun/second car and get bored quickly, or fall out of love with them and realise that they’re actually a very impractical car if you’re not about 5’4”

Any car that merely takes you from A-B does not go far enough.

Like a gleeful anti vaxxer gloating about how they are still alive and kicking despite going against all advice.

It looks cool without the spoiler I must say!

I believe the recall was optional. It also included esp. and different front wishbone bushes. Nothing to stop someone taking off the spoiler of course.
When I had one last year I fitted the cookbots front suspension bushes to restore some of the pre recall steering feel. To be honest I didn't notice a massive difference though.

Yeah, it's funny how the low spec BMWs end up as the survivor cars. Spec is actually fairly typical for the time. But the colour is more E30 era.

Its probably because young lads had no interest in non m spec and its not a 320d?

Sweet sweet engine too - so smooth, even though it’s hardly the “powerhouse” that the ad implies. Must have been one of the last 2Ls, and going to 2.2L was probably the end of Irish sales for these.

I’ve always felt that the 6-cyl 320i in E30-E46 guise was generally bought by older folks doing small miles, especially with an auto. Still rare enough in what I presume is an original Irish spec. Not sure this will ever be desirable, but there’s something very appealing about it. In saying that, someone will probably try put it up for €10k in a few months!

My mum had a new E39 520i in 1998 that still came with hub caps IIRC
