  • Ireland's New Motoring Hub- The Engine Block

I remember reading a thread on here about this new venture but I cant seem to find it on the forum now
    for some reason.

Anyway, it looks like this new adventure is turning into a proper motoring enthusiast hub for Ireland.

Just watched the latest video from Dave on the Drift Games Youtube Channel and he talked a lot about
the whole process and what they are planning on doing there.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27Z3pb4aklA

Some of the costs involved are pretty eye watering though.

It would be great it if works out for all the companies involved in it, Deane Motors, Drift Games and whoever else
    gets involved.

Could be a bit of a Bicester vibe about it, looking forward to seeing how it all turns out and calling in when
everyone is in and up and running.

There’s also Conlon coach trimmers in there too.

It’s going to be quite the spot!

Ya it's Deane's place. Basically drift games has outgrown their current office space and garage so will be moving in on the second floor. Office, space for cars and some other super special thing you've to wait for future videos to see. Pretty big numbers involved but I don't think Dave would have lasted this long if he didn't have some sort of business mind

Just to add, we've got a heavy involvement in this project, had a few drinks with Simon Deane over the weekend and once we've got a 3D model of the finished project ready we've got permission the share it here, watch this space.

Fantastic stuff! Fingers crossed that it all works out. It would be amazing to have a centralised hub like this.
We all stood around in a circle naked, thrusting our clinched fists in the air screaming "Jap Power!!"

I got a tour recently and the plans are absolutely fantastic. It will be a great support to the car nutters here. Hats off the Simon & Co for having the vision and balls to push it on. Cant wait to see it finished.

Likewise I got a tour myself and a run down on the plans. What an amazing place Simon and Co are putting together here, it’s going to be a great addition to the Irish car scene.

Well we are nearly there with it…
Thanks for all the positive messages.
Our big plan is to have the 10-11 business in place and operating for the start of April with a grand opening to the public for the middle of May.
We really have big plans for it. We want it to be a proper club/hub for motor heads. We plan to be open 7 days a week. Car shows, events, master classes, café restaurant, and the best we know in the car scene in one place. It’s taken serious work to pull it all together but I really welcome your feedback on what you guys want it to be?
What sort of events would you like to see?
What classes or guests would you like?
What food or what do you want in the hangout space?
This whole thing is for the entire motor community so what you guys really want is very important to us.
Let’s get it going and have something really awesome happen here.

I tried to organise welding classes before. There was a lot of interest from members here. FAS wasn't interested though so it didn't happen.
