  • My Volvo 850 T5 Olive green Wagon

New to backroads.ie so thought I would share one of the cars that puts a smile my on face every time I clap eyes on it.

Always wanted a 850 wagon ever since I was a young lad watching touring cars and playing tcoc on the ps1 haha.

Started my search initially for a 850t5r or 850r, it had to be olive green and a wagon which proved hard enough to find a clean one with proper history then this popped up with my perfect colour combo green with cream interior. It had the t5r wheels and bumper, bc coilovers and loads of other upgrades and was a high spec CD model.

It was a proper covid purchase in Feb 2021 in the height of the lock down and spotted the car on one of the Instagram stories from Deane Motors. The deal was done under the click and collect restrictions so never seen the car until it was delivered to the door and it didn't disappoint. Car was immaculate and came with a service history like I have never seen before..... Original invoice for the the car every penney that was ever spent on it and a nice little surprise bonus of an otto model car.

After I took delivery it was just a case of enjoying it and aimlessly staring out the window looking at it on the drive, I have since fitted a chipped 850r Ecu from shemtek in the UK and a 3" cat back from exhaustworx so now it sounds as good as it goes. Anyway enough waffle here's some pictures of it.

    Hope yous enjoy.

Love it,cant beat a 1990's Volvo estate with an R on the boot.

      What's the difference between 850R and a T5R?

they has some great engineering in the BTTC to modify the engines to knock 300hp out of the 2.0 engine, very much bending the rule book along the way . worth looking up

As far as I know the main difference was 850r had lsd, subtle interior trim changes and 250bhp vs 240bhp in the t5r

wasn't there a saloon version for sale on here recently?

Anyway - this is stunning, perfect colour too - what's the interior like?
